Notes: The original Kabuki-za in Ginza, Tokyo was a wooden structure built in 1889. The building was destroyed on October 30, 1921 and reconstruction commenced in 1922. The updated design used traditional Japanese architectural style, while also implementing Western building materials and lighting equipment. Construction was finally completed in 1924, but the theater was destroyed by Allied bombing during World War II and was restored in 1950, preserving the style of the 1924 reconstruction.
A seldom seen design from the 1950s.
