Hasui, Kawase (1883 – 1957), “Cormorant Fishing on the Nagara River (Limited Edition)”

Notes: A special limited edition print for the Mainichi Newspaper Group, who published Narazaki's Catalog of Hasui works in 1979. The limited edition prints were used as gifts at the launch of the catalog. Red limitation seal on the reverse; hand-numbered in black ink. Block carver: Namikawa Seizo. Printer: Horikawa Shozaburo. The Nagara River flows through Gifu Prefecture where there is a long tradition of cormorant fishing dating back to the 7th or 8th centuries.
