NOTES:
Notes: Minor thinning in very upper margin (left sheet only). Priest Nitto was known as a womanizer and his favorite was the head servant girl, Okoro. In this design, Priest Nikko checks the privacy of their romantic encounter. His lustful behavior would be discovered and thus he was executed in 1803. The series 'Shinsen azuma nishike-e' was published between 1885 amd 1889, and the designs are based on episodes from kabuki plays.
