Namiki, Hajime (b. 1947)

Hajime Namiki was born in Tokyo in 1947. In 1965, he began studying sculpture under Shigeru Ogura. In 1974, he joined the Japanese Sculpture Association and from 1974 - 1978 he exhibited many of his works. The artist self carves his blocks and self prints each work using traditional methods. The works are printed on gold or silver leaf, which heightens the impact of the image. His prints feature trees, forest settings, Mt. Fuji and Dragons.
