Specializing in rare 18th - 20th Century Japanese Woodblock Prints
Born in Kyoto with the given name Kenjiro, he studied Japanese-style painting from 1901; then ukiyo-e from 1909. Known as a Japanese-style painter, writer, stage designer, and adviser to the Shochiku Kabuki theater. While the majority of his prints are okubi-e of actors, he did design several landscapes which appeared in the 1930 Toledo catalog.
