Specializing in rare 18th - 20th Century Japanese Woodblock Prints
Born in Kyoto, Asano Takeji graduated from the Kyoto School of Fine Arts and Crafts in 1919 and the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting in 1923. Active in the formation of Kyoto Sosaku-Hangakai in 1929. In 1930 he participated with Tokuriki and Asada in creating a series, 'Creative Prints of Twelve Months in New Kyoto', published by Uchida. He excelled as a carver. A series of his landscape prints were published by Unsodo in 1949.
