Notes: Walker states, "This print contains no publisher seals, but is thought to have been published by either Shobido or Doi Sadaichi. It is one of a number of prints commissioned by the war-time Government in order to unite the Japanese people in their war effort. As such, it was thought inappropriate to include publisher information directly on the print."
The shinto shrine is located in the city of Kashihara, Nara Prefecture. It was built on 2 April 1890 at the site of the Kashihara-gu. It was the location where Japan's first emperor, Emperor Jimmu, is said to have acceded to the throne on February 11th 660 BC.
