Hasui, Kawase - surimono format (1883 - 1957), "Man and Horse viewing Mt. Fuji"

Notes: A rare surimono design, with a presumed limited printing. Lacking the red Hasui seal; as shown in Hotei.

The Hasui 'postcard' prints were first marketed in the 1931 S. Watanabe sales catalog. Some of the designs are clearly derived from earlier oversized compositions, whereas others seem to have only been created specially as small format prints. (Hotei V.1 pg. 136)
