One of only seven designs completed by the publisher Junji Kato. Jacoulet did not supervise the impressions directly and this accounts in part for the similarity several show to the more popular Shinsui and Goyo. This print was partially printed in 1934 and further small impressions were made in 1935 when it was officially published. Later, after his problems with the publisher-printer Kato, Jacoulet was to claim that his career began in 1936. His attempts to disavow the earlier work was ultimately unsuccessful. This rare work is the most traditional Japanese print he ever completed, and has been compared with the best of Shinsui. - Miles pg. 93-94
