Notes: Very faint creasing in the margins. Exceedingly rare first state impression of one of the final prints ever produced by Jacoulet. So few were printed and even less were delivered to subscribers prior to the artist's passing. Many of the final examples actually disappeared in the confusion following his death.
The earliest impressions have a gauze-like gauffrage curtain separating the famous dancer from her admirer. The original painting of 1935 contained more of the image within the picture, and was bluer in tone than the final print.
