"In the middle ground of Heirinji Temple Bell (15x10) stone steps lead up to the bell platform, while in the foreground boughs with cherry blossoms droop down. The steps move up and to the left, while the branches flow down and to the left, the two forming a strong and simple "X" design. Muted gray and pink-gray for the stone make the background for the blossoms both solid and harmonious. The entire print glows." - Nature, Art, and Peace; pg. 57-58
Provenance: From a private East Coast collection. For the past 25 years the prints were properly stored away, with many removed from their original studio folders.
