Bartlett, Charles (1860 – 1940), “Lahore Gate, Peshawar – Original Watercolor”

Notes: Signed, dated and titled in color crayon: "Charles W. Bartlett X-mas 1918 - Peshawar". Figures, camels, landscape and structures are all very similar to the completed woodblock print - Miles #19, "Peshawar", 1919. This original drawing was completed a year prior to Bartlett's India Series; many of which used sketches from his travels through India. Provenance: From a prominent New York Collection. Included is a custom white-gold frame from APF in N.Y.
