Superb overall state; never framed or displayed. The young girl was also depicted in the two works by Hiroshi Yoshida titled, "Sleigh" (1927) and "Young Japanese Girl" (c.1927). This possibly points to a stronger connection of working with the Yoshida family to publish her designs, than S. Watanabe Publishing Co. Marguerite Gifford was an American who traveled to Japan in 1939. She produced four known designs, this being her only Japanese subject.
