Yoshida, Toshi (1911 – 1995), “Sea Horses”

Notes: Signed in pencil by the artist. Following in his father's footsteps, Toshi also created works of sea life. Toshi began to explore new subject matter which eventually produced three new groups of styles: underwater aquarium scenes, minute biological forms seen through a microscope and miscellaneous moss, lichen and shell patterns. All three groups were featured in a one-person show at Yanagiya Gallery in 1948.
