Fujiyama – First Light of the Sun is a landmark 1926 color woodblock print by the master artist Hiroshi Yoshida. Belonging to his highly celebrated series, "Ten Views of Fuji", it captures the dawn light striking the snow-draped peak of Mount Fuji. The grand scale of this print is equivalent to four standard ōban sheets. Yoshida bought a massive mountain cherry tree block specifically to execute this oversized format. To produce the print's subtle, glowing gradient sky and atmospheric mist, the artist utilized 8 woodblocks and required 54 separate impressions.

The spectacular oversized design showcases the magical moment at dawn where the first light of the sun hits the summit of Mount Fuji, which rises like a mirage of perfect symmetry above a small village nestled in trees. Original impressions are preserved in world-class collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
