An extremely early pre-quake evening scene. The S. Watanabe 6 mm circular seal in lower right corner. Signed and sealed 'Hasui'; published by Watanabe Shozaburo.
This design depicts Hasui's first print of Matsushima ('Pine Islands'), viewed from the mainland and bathed in moonlight. He would return to this subject several times throughout his illustrious career.
