Monument Valley is a celebrated 1971 Japanese woodblock print that dramatically depicts the surreal desert terrain under a setting sun. The design prominently showcases the iconic sandstone buttes of the American Southwest silhouetted against a softly graded desert sky of rich orange, rust, and amber tones.
The print belongs to Yoshida's celebrated series of international landscapes, inspired by his extensive travels through the United States, Europe, and Africa. The work is highly sought after by collectors of modern Asian art and American desert landscapes.
