Notes: A superb, uncirculated pre-earthquake print. Red limitation number on the reverse: #41/300. Accompanied by the original S. Watanabe studio titled folder. The thirty-six prints of this series were produced from 1922 to 1926, with the majority of the designs from places in Kyushu. All prints are in the aiban format. Narazaki suggests the, "This composition, which uses many black lines and blocks, accurately represents the back of the Kumamoto 'Shiamachi' (low-city)". Provenance: Purchased from S. H. Mori in Chicago, mid-1930s. Three generations in the same American family collection.
